During our summer season, classes are offered by the rabbi on Sunday mornings, based on members’ interests. Offerings in recent years have included:
- Discussions of the weekly Torah reading;
- Understanding the prayerbook;
- Essentials of Judaism;
- Hebrew language;
- Hebrew and Yiddish song;
- Israel “today and yesterday”;
- Israeli folk dancing;
- Adult bar/bat mitzvah;
- Chanting haftorah;
- And many more.
Summer 2017 Classes
9:30 am: Weekly Parsha Study: A text-based discussion of the weekly Torah portion.
10:30 am: Synagogue Service Skills: The study and practice of how to participate in the Sabbath service: aliyot, public readings, ark opening/closing, hagbah/g’lilah, chanting, cantillation, nusach, Torah and Haftorah trope.
